REVIEW: LS MEDIA

"The second film of the evening, Blind Faith, was a fantastically charming and enlightening look at the lives of two homeless Mancunians. Despite the deeply troubling issues that the couple are dealing with; drug abuse, alcoholism and extreme poverty, this film warmly humanises and endears rather than alienating the two. The male protagonist narrates his feelings throughout the entirety of the film, including the repetition of his blind faith that there is a “force” looking after him, whilst various scenes that illustrate their deprived way of life are shown. With the juxtaposition of these stirring, emotive scenes (such as the prostitution that the woman resorts to, and passers-by groping her as she sleeps) and the tender and gentle romance between the couple, it is impossible not to feel moved by this film."

REVIEW: BAY TV - LIVERPOOL

"Done in a documentary style but clearly a work of expert fiction is Blind Faith, a Mancunian tale of a homeless couple. The alcoholic narrator charms small change out of passersby in the same way that he delights the audience with profundities about love, his place in this world and the influential cosmic energy which he sometimes feels. His reasons for living are grounded in his girlfriend, a junkie, who he joyfully looks after, but after some rowing, some prostitution and a couple of head-kickings our hero’s formerly stable life on the street is put under pressure, much to the collective sadness of the audience."
